An engine and the editors built on it

The math is the truth.
Pixels are only output.

LiveSprite keeps a sprite as what you did to make it (strokes, fills, shapes, transforms) and draws the pixels only when they are shown. Nothing is resampled, so nothing goes soft.

One idea, all the way down

Strokes stay strokes

A pencil stroke is the path the pencil took and the brush it took it with. A fill is the area it found. A rectangle is a rectangle.

Changes stay changes

Rotation, scale and offset are numbers on a layer. Set them back to zero and the original returns exactly. A palette slot recolours everything painted through it.

Pixels are output

They exist on the screen and in the files you export, and nowhere else. Turn a layer by 23 degrees and the drawing is walked again at that angle: clean lines, fills still inside their outlines, dithers still dithers.

Licences, said plainly

Open source is a specific thing, so here is exactly what each piece is.
