Mouse on the desktop; a full pad mapping for the board, the menus and the room-code keypad.
Mouse and keyboard #
CHECKFIRE is played with the mouse: click a unit, click a target. Buttons on screen give the rest: RELOAD, the skill, the Field Pack, the operation map, the Field Manual, the menu. Escape backs out of a screen or dismisses a hint. There are no hidden hotkeys to learn.
Controller #
Fully playable on a gamepad (tested on a Steam Deck and Xbox controllers). Pressing any button wakes the pad; moving the mouse hands control straight back to it.

Online
Room codes are spelled on an on-screen keypad with the pad. Local two-player on one machine works with two pads: the seat that is to move takes the input.
